#Hope for the #Fatherless: The Importance of Fathers

Unfortunately, society doesn’t give #Father’s Day the same recognition and fanfare that we give #Mother’s Day. I feel your pain if you have been abandoned by your dad or if you are bereaved of him.

Today, I want to give hope to the fatherless, the abandoned, the forsaken, and comfort to those who have had a good father but their dad has passed away and they will never be able to dance with their father again, have them escort them down the aisle, listen to them, or hear their wise counsel.

To those who have lost their dads prematurely, the #George Floyds, the #Rayshard Brooks, and too many others. I know the pain is great! May it give you a measure of comfort to know that there is a heavenly father that will stand in the gap. His word says He will comfort the broken-hearted. In due season you will reap if you faint not.

All of us have access to our Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally. He gave his life for us. He calls us the apple of his eye and promises to give us our heart’s desires. His word says he will move mountains in our favor and in spite of our beginnings, He wants to make us the Head and not the Tail. He promises to shelter us under his wings and though we may go through some fiery trials, He tells us that no weapon formed against us will prosper. We unlock these blessings by doing our part—believing in him and following his two great commandments: Loving God first, and our neighbor as our self.

Let me say loudly to the many fathers that have done the right thing and have stood strong and have never left or abandoned their biological children or someone else’s physically, emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually: We love you and the sacrifices you have made. We applaud you tremendously! You have done the right thing, you have stood the course, and your reward is in heaven.

Listen to the lyrics in the song, #Dance With My Father, sung by #Luther Vandross. May it give you comfort to know that God’s will is that you have life and that more abundantly. Trust him. Draw nigh to him and he will draw nigh to you. God loves you with an everlasting love, even more than an earthly father. I dare you to put your trust in him! Happy Father’s Day to my father, all fathers, and most importantly, our Heavenly Father. I love you all!
