#OvercomingCOVID19

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22) God’s promise to the righteous is to cause them to stand strong through adversities. His will is that believers have life and that more abundantly.

Open your mouth wide and I will fill it. (Psalm 81:10) Believers must fight the good fight of faith. They say COVID-19 can be unrelenting. The word says when the enemy comes in like a flood, God will raise up a wall against it. You must open your mouth wide and declare his Word over your life with every breath in your body and believe that God will protect and keep you. Surround yourself with believers and those who will declare God’s promises. Plead the blood of Jesus over your life and your loved ones.

Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19) Forgiveness is important to remove any obstacles that stand in the way of your healing. Make sure your heart and emotions are clear from any unforgiveness, negativity, bitterness, hate, jealousy, etc. so that healing, the refreshing will flow through your life.

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. (Psalm 106:1) It’s important that you know that God loves and wants the best for you. He’s not keeping an account of every mistake you’ve made. Once you ask for forgiveness, it’s FORGOTTEN—as far as the east is from the west. Let his praise always be in your mouth. Psalm 67:5-6, says that when the people praise God, he will bless us.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. (Isaiah 54:17) We live in a fallen world. It will rain on the just and the unjust. However, God promises us length of days. His will is that we have an abundant life. Our part is to believe that even if COVID-19 attacks us, his promise is that it will not prosper. It will not defeat us and we shall live and not die. This doesn’t mean that we tempt God and defy scientific authorities and gather at churches or social events. As believers, God has given us common sense and wisdom, which we must use.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith is the key. It involves believing and acting as if our prayers are answered. Therefore, we display an attitude of thanksgiving and praise. When negative thoughts arise, we cancel them, and say what God says about us. I am healthy, whole, and victorious through Christ Jesus.

Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. (Isaiah 60:18) God’s promise to believers is to protect and watch over us and put a wall of protection around our borders. The gates, the openings we walk through are filled with praise for the goodness and mercy that follows us as he gives us victory over our enemies.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he will direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:6) As believers, we must remain humble and acknowledge God and ask daily for his guidance and direction. God is omniscient, he is all knowing. Many who listened to God, the still small voice within them, and left the Twin Towers during Sept 11, lived to tell of God’s mercy and guidance.

Receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. (Proverbs 19:20) We must exercise wisdom and know God for ourselves. We must be followers of God and not man. God will never tell you to drink the Kool-Aid. False prophets will come and go. We must daily set aside a time like David to commune with God, to read his Word so that we can recognize and know his voice.

Unbelief stood in the way of miracles not being performed. Matthew 13:58 states, “And He [Jesus] did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.” Another name for unbelief is lack of faith. Faith means active belief and trust in God’s word, which tells us by his stripes we are already healed. We must believe that he is a good God whose will is that we have an abundant life.

Speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. (Matthew 8:8) It is so important what we say about ourselves. Our words can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Science tells us if you believe negative words spoken over yourself as a child or adult, or believe a negative doctor’s report, you may unconsciously call it into existence. Your body is designed to manufacture antibodies to destroy infectious organisms. If you cut yourself, your body’s natural response is to clot the blood so that healing can take place. When you speak positive words and speak the word of God over your life, you are using your faith to clot and destroy the negative thoughts and unbelief so that healing can take place. Proverbs 18:21 states, death and life are in the power of the tongue.

Will everyone who believes and contracts COVID-19 be healed? We don’t know. But for those who aren’t healed, God’s word says that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. All of us must face death and eternity. His Word says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Here are some things you can do as we wait for this virus to pass over:

Follow expert scientific advice. Practice social distancing and STAY HOME! Wash your hands, exercise, eat right. Take control of your mind and don’t let fears consume you.
Meditate, pray, and don’t watch the news non-stop.
Exercise your faith in a higher power. Listen to an online Bible-based church.
Pray for scientists that God will guide them in finding a cure or a vaccine.
Start a gratitude journal and write in it every day.
Play games with your kids or significant others. If you are alone, find a computer game like chess to pass the time.
Pick up the phone and brighten someone’s day who may be alone or lonely.
Get up from the couch and take a walk.
Listen to relaxing music. Watch a funny movie or a video and get up and dance.
The Native Americans during droughts would dance until it rained. Likewise, dance until we get through this temporary crisis. This too shall pass. God bless you and yours.
