My book, #Caleb The #Cancer-Fighting Bear: Kayleigh Finds Hope, is finished and the prototype bear, Caleb™, is as well. The book’s summary is as follows:
Feisty thirteen-year-old, Kayleigh Gallagher, learns to cope with cancer as she struggles through adolescence. During this emotional and physical battle, she finds hope. Where does it come from? Her Jamaican BFF, the star quarterback, her medical team, Caleb the Cancer-Fighting Bear™, chemotherapy, her family, or a mixture? Readers will gain insight into how to successfully deal with cancer, adolescence, and cultural differences.
Every hour approximately 10 children die from cancer somewhere in the world. My prayer is that this book and the therapeutic bear will bring comfort, encouragement, healing, and hope to individuals with cancer.
Here’s what Audrey Compton MD, MPH at MD Partners, had to say about the book: “Caleb the Cancer-Fighting Bear: Kayleigh Finds Hope, is medically accurate, very sound, and biblically accurate. The book helps to provide hope and inspiration to a child who had lost all hope.
With Kayleigh’s diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (A L L), she had lost her sense of control. This story reminded me of a patient that I had the opportunity to treat, who was given a terminal diagnosis and told she had a 65% chance of responding even with the chemotherapy. However, her faith-filled community helped to prolong her life.
This book is a much-needed tool that helps provide hope and inspiration, through biblical affirmation, application, faith, and prayer. I see this book as an excellent aid for all patients with any chronic disease. I endorse and highly recommend this book without reservation.”
In the coming weeks, I will be launching an Indiegogo campaign to bring both the book and the bear into the market place. Also, if you have an interest in visiting pediatric wards, to listen and pray for children, please inbox me.
Stay tuned, I look forward to you being a part of bringing hope to cancer patients worldwide. If you want to bring #hope to children with cancer, please like this post, share it, and contact me!
